A hybrid amphibious aircraft that can transition from ground effect into conventional flight may prove to be an asset for certain niche purposes. This is an initial design of such a vehicle. The idea is to fly in ground effect over sea and transition to conventional flight on land. The benefits of flying in ground effect have long been recognized and utilized.
