I am pleased to showcase my latest design project: a complete Mold Design for a Hexagonal-shaped Ice Tray. This project focuses on the practical application of plastic injection molding principles, including the development of the product and its corresponding mold components. Key Technical Details: Product Design: Created a sleek, space-efficient hexagonal ice box layout for maximum tray capacity. Mold Engineering: Developed the complete Core and Cavity blocks with precise alignment for the manufacturing process. Complex Geometry: Managed the hexagonal pattern to ensure uniform wall thickness and ease of part ejection. Tooling: Designed the assembly with proper draft angles and parting lines to ensure a defect-free production cycle. This project highlights my proficiency in SOLIDWORKS 2024, specifically in Mold Tools, part modeling and assembly management. It was a great exercise in transitioning from a conceptual product design to a production-ready engineering solution.
