I need some hooks for my wardrobe. 3d printing helped solve the problem. I designed the hanger so that it didn't need printing support. I also wanted that the fixings should be invisible. Hook have strong shape and it work very well more than half a year for now Hook design process Problem: Need to hang clothes in wardrobe Tool: 3D Printer Material: ABS or PLA Tasks for creating some kind of hook: 1. Design should avoid printing support material That’s why groove top have 45° ceiling. 2. Design should be without visible fixings That’s why print is 2 part design, one for fixing and give support function , second for covering screws and hanger function. 3. Design should avoid flat surfaces Typical 3D printed flat surface have diagonal finishing pattern that is not so nice. To avoid this pattern that why is hook designed like freeform tangent surface. This gives nice woodgrain smooth pattern for final surface. 4. Printing direction should be this way that hook invisible bottom is against the bed. This gives good adhesive surface for printing. And flat print pattern will be also invisible so you don't need any additional grinding or processing for final look
