This new rim design integrates the brake away from technology into the sides of the rim as well in order to prevent the rim from rotating sideways. Brake away rims have stopped rims from snapping off backboards or even shattering backboards, however the rim can still be bent sideways still delaying the game! With the improved basketball rim, the hoop can be subjected to downward force and now sideways force. This will not only prevent even more rim mishaps but also prevent wrist related injuries for professional basketball players.
