A Sill Beam is a horizontal Embedded Part fixed at the bottom of the intake opening (usually a concrete slot) where stoplogs or gates rest when lowered. This Sill Beam also connects the Embedded Parts. Functions of Sill Beam in Stoplogs 1. Load Transfer – Transfers vertical and horizontal forces from the stoplogs/gates into the concrete structure. 2. Sealing Surface – Provides a machined or lined surface against which rubber/metal seals of the stoplog press to prevent leakage.
