Heat exchange is an important part that contributes to the efficiency and safety of many processes in automotive, aerospace and many other industries. There are many types of heat exchanger for automotive application, and it may be difficult to choose between one and another without a proper understanding and simulation of each type. Here it was evaluated the performance of a cross-flow heat exchanger used in a force induction car. The scope of this paper was to analyze the difference between fins density inside an intercooler core and how it affects the heat transfer rate and efficiency of the intercooler. It was expected that cores with higher fins density provide a superior heat transfer rate than non-fins cores.
