SolidWorks 3D model of Equation Driven Involute Spur Gear, with changeable Variable Dimesion. There are two variation (z ≤ 41 & z ≥ 42) for each unit (Metric & Imperial) used. This is because when z (Number of teeth) ≥ 42, Dedendum Circle Diameter will be bigger (have greater diameter) than Base Circle Diameter. While normally (z ≤ 41) Dedendum Circle Diameter is smaller than Base Circle Diameter. When this happen then the cut will be broken, and the model will need manual repair. Thats why there are two variation so there is no need to manually repair the model. To open the "Equation" file, please change the file extension from .txt to .xlsx. How to change variables/parameters: Look in the FeatureManager Design Tree tab. Right-click on Equations -> Manage Equations. the tooth space used in this model included adding backlash, but if you dont need it(for ideal gear), its easy to correct. At equetion table find Arc Length, then change the value "1" in this colom wih zero. If the gear width not to your liking, just change the equation of Face Width in Ewuation Manager with number value to your heart desire.
