iPhone X Redesigned Phone Case · 模型 257081
For this competition, I decided to redesign a phone case. The problem with existing phone cases is that they don’t support all the accessories people want with their phones, they cost 10-20$, and they don’t account for much customizability. My idea is to 3D print phone cases in two parts. Printing the phone case in two parts actually makes user interface simpler with much more potential features. By designing the iPhone case in two pieces and having interlocking components, my phone case not only snaps onto to an iPhone X but can also be used as a phone stand. By taking out one piece and connecting it through grooves in the other, the phone case can be used as a phone stand vertically, horizontally, and at different angles. 3D printing phone cases also drives down the cost to produce each one. Having two pieces instead of one also allows for different color combinations. If one half of the phone case were to be damaged, getting a replacement half would be much cheaper than buying a whole new phone case. The grooves in the back of the phone case can also support accessories. I designed a headphone holder that has the same dimensions as the grooves in the phone case. That way, users could attach accessories like a headphone holder, a card holder, and even a portable charger to their phone while being able to detach them without extra bulk or hassle.
