For a 125 mm three jaw chuck, mine off my lathe didn't come with a back shield and chips were getting in there and gumming things up, it uses a rubber band on the outside to seat it in to the boar and a o ring to seal the throat. my chuck brand is SANOU K11-125. works great so far and didn't need any fasteners to keep it in
