This is a design for a low power sample extraction system concept optimized for small mass sample collection. Basic action relies on an Archimedes screw that spins via two small stepper motors to feed small rocks and regolith in to the sample container. This design is proof of concept and could easily be modified to suit multiple vehicle platforms should it be implemented for lunar or martian extraction. BOM is preliminary and can be updated if need be. Final mass is under 1.5kg and utilizes metallic, composite, and teflon components to optimize weight and strength at cold temperatures.
