Lulzbot TAZ Anti-Banding Modification · 模型 255747
This is a take on the classic fork solution to Z-banding exhibited by Lulzbot TAZ 3D printers. The second image in the gallery is an example of before-and-after print quality. A PDF containing assembly instructions is available to download. The SolidWorks assembly of a Lulzbot TAZ 3D printer used in these instructions belongs to https://grabcad.com/jonathan.brazeau-3. For those who are unfamiliar, Z-banding refers to the waves that develop in 3D printed parts fabricated on machines with imperfectly-straight lead screws. The default printer assembly is such that the extruder is pulled around by cyclical forces from the minutely-bowed lead screws. The resulting pattern of misaligned layers at best mars a part's appearance and, at worst, ruins functionality. This device, which is itself 3D-printable, mostly eliminates Z-banding by separating the extruder from the Z nuts with a layer of 6 mm ball bearings. The separation effectively isolates the extruder from the Z nuts' movement.
