The INflatable HEXagons transformer consists of a robotic arm which orientates an inflatable structure that supports cells, each of them holding a gore. Each hexagonal cell stretches a reflector material sheet until reaching the shape and flatness of the desired reflective surface. • 18 reflective gores with an effective area of 0,9987 m2. Total 17,97 m2 of reflecting area. • 1,098 m2 of photovoltaics integrated into the reflecting system. • Sun sensor. • Weight excluding the robotic arm and gas mass: 40,5 kg • Modular and scalable design. • 2-axis for sun tracking: Vertical axis: 360°; Lateral axis: 180° • Room for avionics on the reflecting system. • Fits into 2 m long x 1,5 m wide x 1,5 m high when packed.
