The M10 Krueger was an M1 Abrams replacement study from 2020. It was intended to define a new paradigm for tank design that incorporates maturing technologies such as a fully robotic turret, totally digital vision suite, active defense system and AESA millimeter wave threat detection sensors. -- Propulsion was based on a pair of LV50 gas turbine generators previously developed for the FCS program. The use of two small turbines allow for operating on a single generator set for improved fuel economy when full power is not required. The use of two direct drive electric motors eliminate the need for a transmission and differential steering mechanism. A small LiFePO4 battery provides immediate motivational readiness and combat systems power while the turbine(s) are starting up. -- The vehicle was named for the transformational, but under appreciated, US Army General Walter Krueger (1881-1967). -- The STL files are at full scale; scaling will be required if printing as a desktop model. Alternatively, the .STEP file can be imported then scaled by re-interpreting the units. -- The presentation herein does not contain classified or restricted information.
