It looked weird having my joke in the middle of the first paragraph after I changed it around too much so this one still counts for my first paragraphs joke. Small cylinder neodynium magnets due to polar strength based on shape on a tread device made from rigid kevlar core in a rubberized outer shell for comfort to secure footing which can be fastened to any space boot, shoe or sock with a velcro strap. If we can get really high-tech make it out of slip resistant rubber for oils and petroleums for an added benefit. The number of magnets can be adjust for use in various g-force environments if desired or to balance proper magnetic force with a persons mass by simply adding or removing them with a screw driver. Pulling the astronaut to anchor/mobility points will be accomplished by a two geared spring system similar in function to a low gear 4x4 off road truck with double transfer cases to adjust a high and low retraction torque but in a simple spring tensioned design with lever to attach the springs together to work in tandem when needed for pulling the astronaut.
