This is the largest power plant steam boiler in Hungary with its 200 MW output. There are 3 such boilers in the Gagarin Thermal Power Plant in Gyöngyösvisonta and 2 more steam boilers with a capacity of 100 MW. The boiler burned lignite extracted locally through external extraction. During the reconstruction of the power plant in 1986-91, their capacity was increased to 650 T/h. The boiler was manufactured and built by MHD based on the basic design of the German EVT.
