The idea behind this project was to create a drone delivery container that is reliable and realistic as possible. I picked the Matrice 100 because all the CAD files are available online and it is a reliable drone so I used this frame as a reference to begin my design. The concept of my design was to deliver material to rural areas without having the drone to land. My container has escape doors that release the items inside via parachute or using a mechanical winch to safely deliver packages to the ground. This strategy is the best way to deliver items via drone because it saves a lot of battery life and is more efficient to run more missions on high demand. My design consists of 5 parts: top plate, main optimized body, inside rudder mesh to protect the package, and two escape doors to release the package from the bottom. The process of packaging is very simple, unclip the 2 latches from the top plate, insert the items from the top of the body and snap the main body back to the top plate. then prepare to take off and once the drone is in the air, the pilot can remotely control the escape doors to open to release the package.
