Mecanum wheels are a type of tireless wheel used in robotics that enable robots to move in any direction without changing orientation. They consist of a series of rubberized external rollers obliquely attached to the whole circumference of its rim, with each roller having an axis of rotation at 45° to the wheel plane and at 45° to the axle line. Mecanum wheels are used when omnidirectional movability of a vehicle is desired. They provide exceptional maneuverability and stability.
