Features: -Lexan paneling to fully enclose the build space, with a hinged front door. Includes rubber corner pieces to line all seams. The rubber pieces are 1/2" angle x 12" long x 1/8" thick. -Experimental all-metal hot-end made of 303 Stainless Steel. -Modified extruder that has an imbedded hex nut which pulls the plastic filament through, rather than pushing it with a hobbed bolt. -Air duct which focuses the fan air onto the top of the nozzle, to prevent heat from creeping up. The first fan blows down into the duct; the second fan is turned backwards, and exhausts the air out to the side. -Uses M3 screws and nuts for just about everything. Should also fit 5-40 or 6-32 screws and nuts (if you prefer English units). -Uses standard lm8uu bearings, with the associated m8 threaded rods, couplings, and 8mm shafts, etc. Printing: First - keep in mind never to breathe in the plastic while it's running. If you'd like to try printing this mod of the Prusa-Mendel printer, go for it, and let me know how it goes. I've tried to build the layouts to simplify printing and reduce second operations. STL layouts for printing are available. Takes about 3.5lbs of plastic to make everything (if you use 100% infill).
