Morris Models 17 ft Mini Tugboat · 模型 17048
I have a bit of an obsession with mini tugboats, and hope to build one someday when I have cleared that huge backlog of projects. This model is designed to be built from yellow pine and ACX plywood, and is meant to be somewhere in between the serious cruising tugboat yacht from Glen-L and Devlin and the "toy" models like the Candu from Berkley Engineering. I have spent a long time "capturing" the jaunty angles and carricature of a tugboat that I want. The hull shape for this model was developed with "Freeship," and is intended to built with 1/2 inch thick plywood covered in fiberglass. The frames and superstructure are designed to be built with 1 inch thick (true 1 inch, planed from 2 inch stock) Yellow pine, with the panels made of largely 1/4 inch plywood except the roof, which is also 1/2 inch. Much of the interior framing, such as chine rails, etc, are not detailed. Some of them will have to be laminated from thin strips - particularly to wrap around the back and to cover the forward "box" structure. This boat hull should weight in a little under 1000 pounds. With a small diesel inboard for cruising and a large electric trolling motor for maneuvering, this should be a lot of fun. I have not fully developed this model, so use at your own risk. I am not a professional boat designer. If you do build her, please let me know. Provided in "mirrored" STL, IGS, and IPT files, along with the original hull development igs file from freeship and the half-file from autodesk inventor. I have also included a DXF of the developed hull parts.
