Challenge Sense the Level by Microtechnologies The proposed design solves the problem of minimal changes in the device for different ranges of levels. In this design to adjust the range of levels is changing the length of the pipe and the number of gears. Used gears with a gear ratio of 2. The possible gear ratios 1,2,4,8,16.... (1/2,1/4,1/8,1/16...). The number of gear ratios can be a significant increase when the first and last gears have a different number of teeth. The spring-loaded tape follows the movement of the float. The spring force less than the weight of the float, but is sufficient to rewind the tape and driving the gears. In this design the sensor body is sealed only when the tank overflow. If necessary constant sealing, may be further added a magnetic coupling for transmitting motion through the sealed wall.
