This is my entry for the NASA Challenge: Human-Rated Spacecraft 3D Printing Process Animation. In the folder, I share the renderings, a video in which I present the animations and the models of the assemblies. There are two main assemblies, one of them shows the metal-printer for the internal vessel fabrication. The other one, two robotic arms performing the printing and final machining of the thermal protection system material. Part that make up the model: - Orion spacecraft model scale with the data collected. - Robotic arms, adjusted to an upper structure with 6 axes of freedom. It has as objective to allow the tools mobility without difficulties for the composite filling process. The difficulty resides in the software that controls the arms, creating a security zone between the workers and both arm as they are working in the same space. -Working desk, where a tools guard is incorporated, and a rotational axis that allows the arms to access all areas of the manufactured parts, limiting the arms workspace. -Tools, including: an extruder, milling tool and metal extruder. Although you can add more tools as for example sensors density or position. -Decorated, which incorporates a worker, platform, electrical box, pipes and power cables, compressor tank/ material storage (mixing tank), protection panels.
