For this model I am inspired by the technology of the men of the Neolithic period which had reached a high degree of sophistication in the use of the materials at their disposal , wood horn, bones and stones. For example, polished stone axes , harpoons of antler are objects very beautiful with a very high degree of stylization distilled in long years of refining . Among other things, they also used the canoes to navigate the rivers and a man of that age would have preferred a simple and effective object that not disturbed when the canoe had to be raised to carry it in dry or move it to another body of water . Therefore, what better than a single object essential and easily removable? Also returning to the present day a complicated system would bother when the canoe is loaded on the car roof . Looking at the catalog of Trapper canoes I noticed that the model Corvus has some stiffenings , I thought then attach the support at the border and to reinforcement assuming of course that the dimensions should be verified. With a slight taper of the slot a light pressure will be more than sufficient to prevent the accidentally releasing of the support, and I do not think the friction of wood may damage the canoe.
