Optimized Solar Desalination Plant · 模型 47658
Solar-Powered Portable Desalination Plant is a compact, hybrid desalination system designed to convert saline water into freshwater using solar energy, ultrasonic atomization, and vapour condensation. The system integrates photovoltaic power generation with solar thermal energy to reduce dependence on conventional electricity and support portable, off-grid water purification. The saline water is introduced into a basin equipped with a piezoelectric ultrasonic disc, which generates fine water droplets or mist. A perforated lid above the disc helps control mist movement and reduces direct droplet contact with the dome surface. Within the dome-shaped chamber, the increased water–air interfacial area promotes heat and mass transfer, supporting evaporation under suitable thermal conditions. The resulting water vapour is directed towards a condensation surface, where it cools and collects as freshwater. An acoustic transducer is incorporated near the basin to investigate the reduction of salt deposition and crystallization on internal surfaces. A phase-change material (PCM) thermal storage unit can retain heat for use during periods of reduced sunlight, while the photovoltaic system supplies electricity to components such as the ultrasonic disc, pumps, and control electronics. The system aims to provide a portable, energy-conscious solution for freshwater production in remote communities, disaster-relief operations, coastal regions, and other locations with limited access to conventional water infrastructure. Its performance will be evaluated through daily freshwater yield, energy consumption, salt rejection, water quality, and resistance to salt accumulation. The proposed design targets improved desalination efficiency through the integration of atomization, thermal management, and condensation in a compact system.
