A conceptual flapping wing mechanism designed in Autodesk Fusion 360. This mechanism uses gears, cranks, and linkages to generate coordinated flapping motion. The outer wing sections also change their angles during movement, creating a bird-inspired wing motion. This project involved multiple iterations, redesigns, and adjustments to the mechanism and joints to achieve the desired movement. A personal CAD project created to explore mechanical motion, linkages, and mechanism design. This is a conceptual model and not a flight-tested ornithopter.
