This design consists of the main drum and a cover connected to an oscillating mechanism. During operation, the rotational motion of the main drum is translated into rotational oscillation by a stationary cam that drives the cover back and forth. The oscillation of the cover prevents regolith from escaping at certain angles and when the position of the cam is changed, it allows the regolith to escape from the bottom. This allows the design to have a high fill ratio.
