A Parabolic Trough Solar Collector (PTSC) is a line-focusing concentrating solar collector that uses a parabolic-shaped mirror to focus direct solar radiation onto a receiver tube placed along its focal line. The heat absorbed by the receiver is carried away by a heat transfer fluid (HTF) and used to generate steam for electricity production or to provide industrial process heat.
