The heart of this assembly is the sub-assembly simply made from a stand and two articulated pendulums. When two identical sub-assemblies are aligned you can expect that they will collide one to each other. Right, this is what you will experiment for yourself in millions of possible starting points. In order to make this, if you have an installed version of Inventor-2011, 2012, etc., all you have to do is to put all the files in the attached zip in a single directory and to open there any of the two assemblies (.iam). Just Do It! Then, enter Environments/Dynamic Simulation and click on the Play in the Simulation Player Dialog Box. Enjoy watching on what happens... In the end, click on the Rewind icon in the same Dialog Box, then on the Construction Mode icon - now you have full access to the mobile parts of the assembly/assemblies to change their positions. Dragging one of them on the graphic space you will experiment with what Dynamic Simulation means! Try to collide one pendulum to another one! Click again on Play from the new start position! Looking carefully at the attached pictures you can compare the middle two ones to see how the energy is transferred from the left pendulum to the right one. The same thing you can observe live, looking at the animation - second 15 - to see how the right pendulum is slowing its dynamic in compensation with the left one, which becomes more dynamic. Compare also to the red vs. blue trajectories. If you want to learn how all this can be constructed by yourself, all I can offer you is a PDF text in the Romanian language - already included between the files provided. Be sure that, if you work with Inventor, you will understand the Romanian language - as well as I, understand English from the Inventor Helps... More than this, by working and modeling for yourself all those few parts, you can use ANY version of Inventor... I use to tell to my students that if we, Romanians, would be invented computers and software, then all the whole would learn the Romanian language!
