The C2 series double-step planing hull model (Taunton et al., 2010) is a high-speed deep-V monohull (single deep-V hull) with a hard chine, featuring two transverse steps (double straight steps) on the lower portion of the hull. This model is one of the most widely used geometric benchmarks globally in high-speed ship hydrodynamics research, both for validating towing tank tests and for computer simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
