PlasticBank: Land Mine Marker · 模型 180694
Why not put all that plastic to the ultimate use, saving lives. Land mines are a big problem around the world, especially in war torn and developing countries..... "It is estimated that there are 110 million active landmines. This means that there is one landmine for every 17 children in the world. Or, in other words, one landmine for every 52 people. - Another 110 million landmines are stored ready to be used. -Landmines are found in over 70 countries. -2,000 people are involved in landmine accidents every month - one person every 20 minutes. Around 800 of these will die. 1,200 will be maimed." (http://newint.org/easier-english/landmine/lmfacts.html) These are just some of the astounding facts about how land mines affect peoples lives everyday. I think this would be a perfect fit for this context because often times the anti-mine teams will be in remote locations and not know exactly how many tags are required. So they can print them on demand. The thicker, durable plastic offers more durability until more permanent markers can be put into place or the mines are removed completely. And the best part is, the environmental footprint is minimized because the plastic is recycled to begin with. The markers could be dispersed en mass to the farmers and the general public, to children etc. so that whenever they come across something suspicious, they can mark it for further review..... The markers come in at 45grams, using .0371 lbs/in3 density ABS. They're 10" tall by 4 inch wide....should be able to be printed in most standard 3D printers, or they can be easily scaled to meet various printer build sizes... Let me know what you think.... ********* the skull patter was pulled from Tommy Meullers "skull ring" https://grabcad.com/library/skull-ring. Thanks Tommy.
