This is a simple handmade polariscope. I did it for a part of my graduate exams. How it works: thanks to 2 polarized filters, you can see tractive efforts on Plexiglass and Polycarbonate profiles, bound with 2 sets of locking plates. The application of the load occurs by placing weights on a rope tied to the bottom plate. It's a very simple method but it works.
