This project presents a complete 3D CAD model of a belt-driven chaff cutter designed for efficient processing of forage crops such as Napier grass, maize stalks, sorghum, sugarcane tops, hay, and other livestock feed materials. The machine features a robust fabricated steel frame supporting a horizontal cutting rotor housed within a reinforced cutting chamber. Power is transmitted from a petrol engine through a V-belt and pulley system, providing reliable torque while simplifying maintenance and allowing flexible drive ratios. Material is fed through a wide inlet chute into the cutting chamber, where multiple high-strength rotating blades perform continuous chopping before discharging the processed forage through an elevated curved outlet chute. The assembly was developed with emphasis on manufacturability, structural simplicity, ease of maintenance, and suitability for fabrication using commonly available workshop equipment.
