PoTankTo - Agricultural Rover · 模型 123926
The following is a prototype agricultural rover nicknamed "PoTankTo" (as it monitors potatoes and has Christie-style tank suspension). This was produced for the unit "Engineering Technology Sustainability Project" whilst studying at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. The goal of the project was to use modern tech to develop a sustainable solution to an environmental, ecological, or societal problem. Our group focused on agriculture, specifically potatoes, as there is little in terms of robotic disease prevention for the crop. The system is controlled by a Raspberry Pi 5, and pair of Polulu Motoron HATs. The system is powered by a small 12V Li-Po battery, with step-down / buck converters providing 5V to the RPi and other peripherals through sufficient fusing. Due to lack of time and funding analogue peripherals are controlled by Arduino UNO, rather than dedicated A2D and D2A modules. The spraying system is controlled by a large servo motor to change between spraying on either side, and a pump-module from a electronic bicycle pump is used to pressurise a 2L soft drink bottle, which the servo module changes the direction of spray depending on which side disease detection is picked up. The robot is constructed out of 6mm MDF, PETG, TPU, and, hobbyist electronics, and commonly available fastners. I'm happy to answer any questions about the project :) .
