The two sections are off-positioned by 40 degree. The cover plate separating the two section has holes in it to allow evenly distribution of the regolith inside the drum. The spiral design of the drum is designed in such a way that the regolith will stay inside the drum when it rotates in clockwise wise direction. It also prevents the mouth of the drum to be clogged from the regolith stored inside. For unloading the drum will rotate in reverse direction which will allow the regolith to follow the spiral path towards the exit.
