This design was physically produced as my final Industrial Design senior project. "Requies" - noun - Rest, Repose, Respite. With the standardization of remote jobs, working class adults found themselves and their usual schedule confined to their homes. The Requies Sofa is meant to be a way to separate work from rest and be filled with personal items that induce mindful rest, relaxation, and thought. Reminiscent of midcentury modern telephone benches, this compound furniture piece has a 3ft wide sitting area with a slanted arm rest and a tambor door cabinet that can store items such as tools, blankets, hobby materials, records, books, etc.
