The RLTS is a spaceflight logistics transport compartment that was originally created for a NASA Solve competition called Moon Movers, which had the objective of designing a cargo transport compartment that can be used for later Artemis missions. It consists of mostly 3D printed material, called PLA filament. It has a computer chip in the lid that keeps record of the temperature, pressure, and power inside the unit. It is heated by solar-powered heating coils that are manually installed throughout the unit. The unit is kept closed using four tight-fit ball socket attachments that are also 3D printed. It has a handle on it for manual loading/unloading and two D-rings for mechanical loading/unloading. The unit’s contents can be identified by a small label on the front, just underneath the handle. It is completely material and cost efficient.
