And now, this is the promised Romanian genuine cork press (see here the promise: https://grabcad.com/library/cork-press-1). It is very simple and very useful. I have an experience with some vineyards in Romania, so I know very well that this is the way the Romanians use to put corks to wine bottles. The assembly is made by wood, and the main operation to obtain its parts is turning on wood lathe. As you can see in the pictures, the body is made of two parts (Body inside and Body outside). This is compulsory due to technological reasons. The pictures shows how to make the assembly and what parts need to be glued. The „Cooper armor” is made from a sheet of copper (thick = 0.2 - 0.3 mm ), and it is dented in advance. It will be molded on the „Body inside” before gluing with the ”Body outside”. Practical use of the press is as follows: remove the cork from the boiling water and then put it in the armor conical copper and apply a push on the handle rod to introduce the cork into the bottle. Operation is guaranteed, trust me... Added are the technical designs (with dimensions!) which enable you to really make your own cork press - in the Romanian style. Be sure that a turner will have all the necessary information to make the work. He/she has to take care with the complementary diameters of gluing parts and to finish the body in the assembled state - not a big deal... And be sure that this is the most refined shape I know, because I have got more than one of them. Enjoy!
