Team member: Odugu Obiora and Onyearugbulem Sixtus Institution: University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Problem definition Imagine John (infected with Covid-19) wakes up in the morning, prepared for work and sets out. While walking to the bus station, he sneezes into his hands. Because john was no where close to a washing basin, he continues on his journey to work. On getting to the bus park, he holds the handle and gets in. He performed a similar routine (open doors and heads in) all the way to his personal office and to the toilet where he eventually washes his hands. At the end of the day, John heads home and falls ill. In a few days, he discovered he has been infected with the virus and has exposed a lot of people in his workplace and the bus station. This is john’s story, those he infected have their own stories. (Story adapted from Print-city’s covid-19 solution course) Problem solution Now imagine John with an S-band. Immediately after sneezing, he pours about 2.5ml of sanitizer (recommended by WHO) and rubs all over his palm including his back hands and in between fingers. He has just saved thousands of lives and ultimately reduced the curve in his country. All made possible by an easy to use and stylish sanitizer wrist strap. Prototyping material S-band can be printed with an elastic resin (50A shore) to mimic actual silicon and test form and function. Also, it also shows potential for printing with the recent silicon 3d printing material. Printing method SLA
