This project was developed during my first year of Mechanical Engineering as part of the Theory of Machines course. The machine is based on a single slider-crank mechanism, where a motor drives a crank connected to a slider that generates a reciprocating motion. The mechanism allows sand or granular material to move across a mesh screen, enabling the separation of fine particles from larger ones. This design provides a simple, cost-effective, and efficient solution for small-scale construction sites, especially in areas where electricity supply is limited. The project involved kinematic and dynamic analysis (position, velocity, acceleration, and force analysis) of the mechanism, as well as simulation using MATLAB to validate performance.
