The device is equipped with a pendulum with a needle at the end, which is inserted into one side of the wax near the bottom of the candle. As the wick burns, the wax melts and releases the needle, allowing the weight to swing down and the domed cap to fall over the flame to extinguish it. Made of brass, wood.
