The Design Of A Single Piloted Quad Rotor-Craft Air frame. A design project I chose for my degree which I am completing part time. The big picture: I intend to develop a close ground support aircraft replacing the retired A10. Other configurations would also include medivac and light transport missions. Please don't be too harsh, :) This is a parametric design focusing on the frame portion alone. Rotors etc are currently in development. All of the details will be added in the future. There is still an enormous amount of development to be done, such as the control system, powertrain, gearbox & PSRU etc etc. Basic specifications I used for first iterations (subject to change): Engine: Mazda 13B REW N/A @ 200kw (ISA) GTW : 380 kg Service Ceiling : 10,000 ft Endurance: 1.5h Frame Material: DIN 1.7128 Chromoly Special thanks to: Oliver Kiss for his contribution with the engine model Rohan Bagul for his contribution with the seat model
