A rotor ship is a type of ship designed to use the Magnus effect for propulsion. The ship is propelled, at least in part, by large powered vertical rotors, sometimes known as rotor sails. Flettner ship is a kind of ships that use THE MAGNUS force to sail. - This ship has a vertically rotating shaft, when it rotates and the airstream flow around the vertically rotating shaft, it makes a difference in pressure infront and backward of the rotating shaft. - This difference in pressure produces THE MAGNUS force and the ship moves in water stream perpendicularly to the airstream in the direction of the pressure from the large to the least.
