This is my second iteration of a bike stem for my bicycle that was actually manufactured. It's made of a 50 x 50 mm aluminium alloy square stock, and can be made on a lathe with a 4 jaw chuck and a milling machine. It's pretty oversized, but I had to keep in mind the limitations of the available machining tools, and stock material. My motivation to design my own stem came from the fact that I couldn't find any reasonably priced products with compatible hole sizes for my bike, and I had the tools and the material. It's made for a 1 1/8" head tube and a 25,5 mm handlebar, but can be resized for your needs.
