StewMac Hot Rod Low-Profile 2-Way Truss Rod · 模型 15264
This is a solid model constructed in Autodesk Fusion of the Stewart-MacDonald (StewMac) Hot Rod Low-Profile 2-Way Truss Rod for model numbers 2651 (14-1/4" overall length) and 2652 (18" overall length). This design as presented is set at 18", but all its principal dimensions are parameterized so you can adjust it to any length you like. Note that this design will not work for StewMac’s models 2650 (12-1/4" overall length) and 2653 (24" overall length) Low-Profile truss rods as their construction is slightly different. Also note that this model is intended to represent external geometry and dimensions only, and is suitable for planning the geometry and/or assembly of a guitar neck and, as such, has no internal details. One additional caveat is necessary: Important – Please Read: StewMac has – at least at the time of this writing – not published the schematics for their Hot Rod Low-Profile truss rods like they have done for their other models, and so their nominal dimensions are not available. I have measured the physical truss rod as carefully as possible with calipers and used the dimensions as measured in my design. These may differ from their nominal dimensions; in any case, truss rods are not exactly precision manufactured. As an example, StewMac’s installation instructions for this product call for a routed channel 1/4" (6.35 mm) wide x 3/8" (9.525 mm) deep for the long section of the truss rod. However, the multiple measurements I took of the width and depth of the truss rod averaged out to 6.2 mm (0.244”) and 9.15 mm (0.36”) respectively, and which my design as presented is set at. StewMac’s instructions, if followed, would have resulted in a loose fit of my rod (no pun intended). Therefore, please carry out your own measurements and use your judgement, and take advantage of the parametric nature of Autodesk Fusion to specify your own values. I have uploaded my original Autodesk Fusion F3D design file, and for those who do not use Fusion, I have also uploaded its STEP and IGES versions. Whether or not you will be able to edit the STEP and IGES designs depends entirely on the CAD application you use.
