I wanted to start challenging myself after designing singular models such as Computer mouse and Mobile-phone cases as they were scale-wise smaller products and singular in nature as well. I decided to start this process of challenging by designing a streetlamp, as it involves multiple items such as the lamp holders, the lamp stand and the fixture at the end to hold the lamp in the ground. There were around 3 iterations i had developed before designing this final one. A lot of those iterations went in understanding my way around using the circular patter tool for the lamp fixtures, using spline tool to design the curvature shape of the lamp holders and carefully aligning the components of this assembly one by one using the align tool. I am proud of this design as it was challenging, made me use more tools and moreover was fun to design as well. The main tools used were align, mirror,text-based extrude, fillet, circular pattern.
