This is a sturdy interface part (also dempends on your ball ficture etc for the final result.) that I designed and are using for my Super Eyes B500 USB microscope. I use it as a center finder for drilling holes in PCB´s (Printed circuit boards). I use the USB microscope with a Windows app 3ea M3 screws and nuts is used for ultimate rigidity. The 1/4" camera thread is modelled in to the print so it should be easily be possible to assable without tools other than the ones needed to clean up the suports If you 3D print it. Search for CNC camera and you will finde some, you can also use many generic camera apps in conjunction wit a hair cross application.
