Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin MİLGEM projesi kapsamında Yerli ve Milli Üretimi arttırmak dışa bağımlılığını azaltmak maksadıyla ve savunma sanaayinin modernizasyon ve yenilenme çabalarıyla prototipini oluşturulan gemilerden TCG İstanbul (F-515) savaş gemisi 17 Ocak 2021 tarihinde Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanlığına kazandırılması planlanmaktadır. İstif Sınıfı içinde 4 adet fırkarteyn üretilmesi planlanmaktadır. Gemi yerli ve milli silahlarla donatılacaktır.2017'de inşasına başlanmıştır. 2021'de göreve hazır olması beklenmektedir.
