I've spent way too much time on this challenge. I've gotten to a point where I just can't manage to make anymore meaningful weight reductions without exceeding the allowable stress limits. Final weight: 0.521lb (236.16g) Weight/Volume reduction: 72.8% Loading and fixtures (Solidworks terminology): Base support: virtual wall 4xbolts: foundation bolts External loading: bearing load on inside surface of inner bearing ring. Contact set: No penetration (this is required for the bearing to bracket contact, and for the virtual wall). This really hurt my solve times when I reduced the mesh size. Mesh: Curvature based mesh with 0.02in max element size. Detailed report attached. Thanks all, and good luck to everyone!
