'The Savior' - A Modular Attachment for Disaster Relief Drones · 模型 141885
'The Savior' is a concept based on modularity. There are four types of modules: i) Drone Connector Module (can be changed for a different drone) ii) Leg Module ( Different leg sizes for different drop situations) iii) Accessories ( Different container configurations for different applications) Modularity, in this context, allows ease of 3D Printing, easy replacement of damaged parts and interchangeability between drones. The design requires no other manufacturing processes other than 3D Printing and is very easy to assemble. The 'Leg' of the container is designed to withstand an impact force of 50lbs being dropped from a height of around 6 feet. Looking at how some of its parts developed through the Generative Design platform provided by Frustum under Solid Edge, we can see how a non-creative, highly conservative design idea can be very easily and smoothly changed into a mass efficient design. Different bio patterns have been used in the design, including the Voronoi pattern and the conventional Honeycomb pattern to reduce the weight of the wall, by still nearly getting the rigidity of a 10mm thick structure. The connector is so designed as to create a minimum loss in stability while easing the process of the release. The mass reduction report has been attached along with the submission.
