The Shoelace Dial · 模型 257604
Hau Tran Grand Haven High School, Grand Haven MI Instructor: Jeremy Case The shoelace is a hassle for many People. Shoelaces required and for many people, that could be extremely difficult. People with arthritis and articulation impairments have issues tying their shoelaces, this is where the shoelace dial comes in. The dial solves two issues with shoelaces, 1; It allows for people with impairments to tighten shoes one handed, and 2; the dial keeps the shoelaces tight and guarantees it will not loosen. The dial consists of two small components. The dial itself and the part that attaches to the back of the shoe. It is designed to be low profile so it doesn’t protrude from a back of the shoe too much and is small so it is inexpensive to produce. The shoelace dial has the ability to solve the shoelace issue many people have. The dial is designed to be inexpensively 3D-printed and universal to every shoe. Proprietary designs are expensive and can’t be applied to every shoe, making them very unattainable to many consumers. Using FDM printing to produce the product and PBT plastics to give the Shoelace dial a more premium feel. To sum up the shoelace dial, it is a small dial and clip that attaches to the back of any shoes, and allows people with impairments in their hands to tighten laces with ease instead of tying them into a knot.
