First off, I'd like to acknowledge Pranav Panchal for his amazing version of https://grabcad.com/library/the-taj-mahal. I "LIKED" it and so should you... The incredible architecture is not as well represented in 2d sheet metal as I had hoped, but I thought it came out well enough to share. This tab and slot sheet metal assembly is my attempt to bring 3d from my usual 2d sheet metal puzzles... Spoiler..".Learn here..." The 'Taj Mahal' represents the finest and most sophisticated example of Mughal architecture. Its origins lie in the moving circumstances of its commission and the culture and history of an Islamic Mughal empire's rule of large parts of India. The distraught Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned the mausoleum upon the death of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Construction was completed in 1653 and employed around 20,000 artisans under the guidance of a board of architects led by Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. The domed marble tomb is part of an integrated complex consisting of gardens and two red-sandstone buildings surrounded by a crenellated wall on three sides. The Taj Mahal combines elements from Indian, Islamic, Persian and Turkish architectural styles and is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India". It is one of the world’s most celebrated structures, a symbol of India’s rich history and regarded by many as the best example of Mughal archit...
